TORTURED drug-war Hanlon twinsare at the centre of criminal web, Scottish Sun can reveal (http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/3124806/Scottish-ganglands-web-of-evil.html)

A MASSIVE police manhunt was under way last night for a gangland suspect who ran off in the NUDE from officers during a morning raid.

A dog team and a police helicopter searched for the starkers sprinter in streets and woodland near the home in Caldercruix, Lanarkshire.
More than a dozen officers battered their way into the plush property, following the brutal torture attacks on Glasgow gangland twins Bryan and James Hanlon.

It was one of a string of raids across North Glasgow and Lanarkshire which saw eight people arrested yesterday.
But the naked suspect, thought to be part of Glasgow's notorious Barmulloch crew, evaded the police sting when he jumped out of a bedroom window - without wasting time to put clothes on.
One officer was forced to deal with three snarling Staffordshire Bull Terriers on the property as the man made his escape.
And one cop hauled a fearsome CROSSBOW from the house.
Last night gangland sources claim the suspect, in his mid-20s, had sped off to a friend's house nearby before being smuggled out of town in the boot of a car.
An insider said: "He's either been given a call that the cops were on their way or he's spotted them at the front of the house on CCTV cameras.
"But as soon as he's seen they were there he's not thought twice about it, and bailed out and legged it without a stitch on."
Specialist officers were kitted out with helmets and riot shields, and armed with a hydraulic battering ram for the 10am raid.
They used it to smash their way though the heavy wooden gate of the detached house.

Uniformed and plain clothes police, along with an officer from the dog unit, supported the raid at the posh new-build home.
Moments after the team entered the property shouts of "runner" were heard.
It is believed the man escaped through a rear window and ran away naked through some bushes.
Cops raced to the back of the house and uniformed officers ran off down the street.
The man was spotted running through a nearby building site and along some railway tracks.
A witness, who asked not to be named, said: "He legged it down the tracks naked. The officers were looking under motors and about the site."
A woman - also in her twenties - was heard shouting at the house and seen at the door wearing a leopard print dressing gown.
A black Honda Civic type R car was parked in the drive. Officers recovered the crossbow and stolen goods from the property.
The police search was eventually stepped down last night after the helicopter and dog team failed to trace the suspect, but officers are still hunting the fugitive.
The Caldercruix raid was part of Operation Zumba - launched earlier this week after the gruesome torture attacks on the 26-year-old Hanlon twins.
Bryan had his manhood mutilated last Sunday after a squad of thugs rammed his car off the road and attacked him wielding chisels, knives and hammers.
It came a week after his brother James was attacked by a mob of eight men who tried to bore holes into his head with a power drill.

Yesterday's operation brought eight arrests in a series of raids connected to the attacks.
The offences included drug dealing and the production and distribution of counterfeit money. At flats in Glasgow's tough Sighthill two men and a woman were seen being hauled off by officers - as a tiny schoolgirl in her uniform looked on.
We told on Friday how a 19-year-old man, who cannot be named, has already been arrested in Stepps, Glasgow, in connection with the drill attack.
He is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Last night Strathclyde Police Superintendent Val Thomson said the target of the operation is "individuals involved in violence and serious and organised crime".
She added said: "Everything we have been doing in this operation is connected to the levels of violence we have seen across the city over the last two weeks.

"We will continue to do everything in our power to catch and bring to justice the criminals who are trying to operate in our communities."
Glasgow's underworld is said to have been shocked by the level of violence used in the brutal torture of the Hanlon twins.
Bryan Hanlon, who needed brain surgery after the attack in Glasgow's Maryhill, is reported to be improving at the city's Southern General Hospital after he was brought out of an induced coma.
The brothers were both friends of slain gangland enforcer Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll, 29.
He was gunned down outside an Asda superstore in the city's Robroyston area in January.
A Strathclyde Police spokesman said of yesterday's Caldercruix raid: "We have reason to believe that the male had been in the house, however had left prior to police arrival.
"A female who was in the house has provided police assistance. Enquiries into the suspect's whereabouts are ongoing."
