Just thought I would finally make an introduction post.

Former USAF, joined when I was 17 (required my parents signatures) fresh out of High School in '89.
Entered PJ training and washed out a short time into it. I blame my age and maturity level at the time. I Ended up being a Medical Specialist... pretty much spent my whole time in Texas. Achieved the Panama conflict service ribbon though I never left Texas... I can only presume it was due to my proximity to Panama at the time though I never fired a round.

Got a gig working with Americas Army so I was Army contract for 4+ years from July 2002 until late September 2006. Was an Alpha team lead, Beta team lead and Design Community Lead until the release of 2.7 to which I was fortunate enough to get a sponsorship which created a conflict of interest and I went the direction of free hardware =D.

I am possibly the most proud American you will ever meet and absolutely love our servicemen and respect their sacrifices.

The link didn't work, but I think I know which one you speak of.
I can upload a copy of my DD214 but it needs heavy blocking for a lot of the details. It's been a long time since I looked at it.

That's bad ass, I used to play AA from when it was released until about 2.6. Welcome to Apacheclips!

I'm assuming you spent the majority of your time at Lackland?

America's Army? That's awesome. I played it at a time, but not sure which version. it was either at or before 2.6 as I recall. Sadly, I never completed my training (me and Luke Skywalker, eh?), but in matches I usually chose a corner and protected the base.

Very nice to know you.

UGH I HATE my tread title. I thought at first no biggie, nobody will respond.... Now every time I see it I think WTF was I thinking with such a stupid title.

The easiest way to separate the versions of AA... if you had drivable vehicles it was post 2.7
If the game was still fun, it was pre 2.7

The title alone made me think "what the heck?" and had to click. Glad I did.

When I played AA I think it was when it was first available on the Mac. Around 2003 if I recall. I just know I took it seriously and went through the medic stuff and the like, and qualified on marksmanship but there was something I couldn't pass in training.
I liked camping a door and keeping anyone from further progress if they breached defenses. Usually there was yelling about someone screwing up...but that wasn't usually me. hahaha I knew my weaknesses.

Funny enough, the book I was working on was supposed to be about a mix of soldiers, midddle east tours, and also online games- with parallells to dif mentality... but I ended up with a narrower focus; since I worried I might look like I was taking it too trivial if I whooshed past service.
